Surah 55: Ar-Rahman
الرحمن
Ayah 1
The Most Merciful
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ Arrahman — 🔊
Ayah 2
Taught the Qur’ān,
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ AAallama alqur-an — 🔊
Ayah 3
Created man,
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ Khalaqa al-insan — 🔊
Ayah 4
[And] taught him eloquence.
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ AAallamahu albayan — 🔊
Ayah 5
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ Ashshamsu walqamaru bihusban — 🔊
Ayah 6
And the stars and trees prostrate
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ Wannajmu washshajaru yasjudan — 🔊
Ayah 7
And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ Wassamaa rafaAAahawawadaAAa almeezan — 🔊
Ayah 8
That you not transgress within the balance.
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ Alla tatghaw fee almeezan — 🔊
Ayah 9
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ Waaqeemoo alwazna bilqisti walatukhsiroo almeezan — 🔊
Ayah 10
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ Wal-arda wadaAAahalil-anam — 🔊
Ayah 11
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ Feeha fakihatun wannakhluthatu al-akmam — 🔊
Ayah 12
And grain having husks and scented plants.
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ Walhabbu thoo alAAasfiwarrayhan — 🔊
Ayah 13
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?1
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 14
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ Khalaqa al-insana min salsalinkalfakhkhar — 🔊
Ayah 15
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ Wakhalaqa aljanna min marijinmin nar — 🔊
Ayah 16
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 17
[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ Rabbu almashriqayni warabbu almaghribayn — 🔊
Ayah 18
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 19
He released the two seas meeting [one another];
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ Maraja albahrayni yaltaqiyan — 🔊
Ayah 20
Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses.
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ Baynahuma barzakhun la yabghiyan — 🔊
Ayah 21
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 22
From both of them emerge pearl and coral.
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ Yakhruju minhuma allu/luo walmarjan — 🔊
Ayah 23
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththibani — 🔊
Ayah 24
And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ Walahu aljawari almunshaatufee albahri kal-aAAlam — 🔊
Ayah 25
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 26
Everyone upon it [i.e., the earth] will perish,
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ Kullu man AAalayha fan — 🔊
Ayah 27
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ Wayabqa wajhu rabbika thooaljalali wal-ikram — 🔊
Ayah 28
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 29
Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is in [i.e., bringing about] a matter
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ Yas-aluhu man fee assamawatiwal-ardi kulla yawmin huwa fee sha/n — 🔊
Ayah 30
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 31
We will attend to you, O prominent beings
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ Sanafrughu lakum ayyuha aththaqalan — 🔊
Ayah 32
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 33
O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allāh].
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ Ya maAAshara aljinni wal-insiini istataAAtum an tanfuthoo min aqtari assamawatiwal-ardi fanfuthoo la tanfuthoonailla bisultan — 🔊
Ayah 34
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 35
There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke and you will not defend yourselves.
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ Yursalu AAalaykuma shuwathunmin narin wanuhasun fala tantasiran — 🔊
Ayah 36
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 37
And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ Fa-itha inshaqqati assamaofakanat wardatan kaddihan — 🔊
Ayah 38
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 39
Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ Fayawma-ithin la yus-alu AAan thanbihiinsun wala jan — 🔊
Ayah 40
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 41
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ YuAArafu almujrimoona biseemahumfayu/khathu binnawasee wal-aqdam — 🔊
Ayah 42
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 43
This is Hell, which the criminals deny.
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ Hathihi jahannamu allatee yukaththibubiha almujrimoon — 🔊
Ayah 44
They will circulate between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ Yatoofoona baynaha wabayna hameeminan — 🔊
Ayah 45
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 46
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ Waliman khafa maqama rabbihijannatan — 🔊
Ayah 47
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 48
Having [spreading] branches.
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ Thawata afnan — 🔊
Ayah 49
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 50
In both of them are two springs, flowing.
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ Feehima AAaynani tajriyan — 🔊
Ayah 51
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 52
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ Feehima min kulli fakihatinzawjan — 🔊
Ayah 53
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 54
[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ Muttaki-eena AAala furushin bata-inuhamin istabraqin wajana aljannatayni dan — 🔊
Ayah 55
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 56
In them are women limiting [their] glances untouched before them by man or jinnī -
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ Feehinna qasiratu attarfilam yatmithhunna insun qablahum wala jan — 🔊
Ayah 57
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 58
As if they were rubies and coral
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ Kaannahunna alyaqootu walmarjan — 🔊
Ayah 59
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 60
Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ Hal jazao al-ihsani illaal-ihsan — 🔊
Ayah 61
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 62
And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens -
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ Wamin doonihima jannatan — 🔊
Ayah 63
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 64
Dark green [in color].
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ Mudhammatan — 🔊
Ayah 65
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 66
In both of them are two springs, spouting.
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ Feehima AAaynani naddakhatan — 🔊
Ayah 67
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 68
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ Feehima fakihatun wanakhlunwarumman — 🔊
Ayah 69
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 70
In them are good and beautiful women -
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ Feehinna khayratun hisan — 🔊
Ayah 71
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 72
Fair ones reserved in pavilions -
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ Hoorun maqsooratun feealkhiyam — 🔊
Ayah 73
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 74
Untouched before them by man or jinnī -
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ Lam yatmithhunna insun qablahum walajan — 🔊
Ayah 75
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 76
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ Muttaki-eena AAala rafrafin khudrinwaAAabqariyyin hisan — 🔊
Ayah 77
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ Fabi-ayyi ala-i rabbikumatukaththiban — 🔊
Ayah 78
Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ Tabaraka ismu rabbika theealjalali wal-ikram — 🔊
