Surah 50: Qaf
ق
Ayah 1
Qāf By the honored Qur’ān..
قٓ ۚ وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْمَجِيدِ Qaf walqur-ani almajeed — 🔊
Ayah 2
But they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, “This is an amazing thing.
بَلْ عَجِبُوٓا۟ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا شَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ Bal AAajiboo an jaahum munthirunminhum faqala alkafiroona hatha shay-onAAajeeb — 🔊
Ayah 3
When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant [i.e., unlikely] return.”
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۖ ذَٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيدٌ A-itha mitna wakunna turabanthalika rajAAun baAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 4
We know what the earth diminishes [i.e., consumes] of them, and with Us is a retaining record.
قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَعِندَنَا كِتَـٰبٌ حَفِيظٌۢ Qad AAalimna ma tanqusual-ardu minhum waAAindana kitabun hafeeth — 🔊
Ayah 5
But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition.
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِىٓ أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ Bal kaththaboo bilhaqqilamma jaahum fahum fee amrin mareej — 🔊
Ayah 6
Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts?
أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا وَزَيَّنَّـٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ Afalam yanthuroo ila assama-ifawqahum kayfa banaynaha wazayyannahawama laha min furooj — 🔊
Ayah 7
And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind,
وَٱلْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَـٰهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَأَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۭ بَهِيجٍ Wal-arda madadnahawaalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatnafeeha min kulli zawjin baheej — 🔊
Ayah 8
Giving insight and a reminder for every servant who turns [to Allāh].
تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ Tabsiratan wathikralikulli AAabdin muneeb — 🔊
Ayah 9
And We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest
وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً مُّبَـٰرَكًا فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَحَبَّ ٱلْحَصِيدِ Wanazzalna mina assama-imaan mubarakan faanbatna bihi jannatinwahabba alhaseed — 🔊
Ayah 10
And lofty palm trees having fruit arranged in layers -
وَٱلنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَـٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ Wannakhla basiqatinlaha talAAun nadeed — 🔊
Ayah 11
As provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the emergence [i.e., resurrection].
رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ ۖ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْخُرُوجُ Rizqan lilAAibadi waahyaynabihi baldatan maytan kathalika alkhurooj — 🔊
Ayah 12
The people of Noah denied before them and the companions of the well and Thamūd
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinwaas-habu arrassi wathamood — 🔊
Ayah 13
And ʿAad and Pharaoh and the brothers [i.e., people] of Lot
وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَٰنُ لُوطٍ WaAAadun wafirAAawnu wa-ikhwanuloot — 🔊
Ayah 14
And the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubbaʿ. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled.
وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ ٱلرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ Waas-habu al-aykati waqawmutubbaAAin kullun kaththaba arrusula fahaqqawaAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 15
Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation.
أَفَعَيِينَا بِٱلْخَلْقِ ٱلْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ AfaAAayeena bilkhalqial-awwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeed — 🔊
Ayah 16
And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ Walaqad khalaqna al-insanawanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabuilayhi min habli alwareed — 🔊
Ayah 17
When the two receivers [i.e., recording angels] receive seated on the right and on the left.
إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى ٱلْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ Ith yatalaqqa almutalaqqiyaniAAani alyameeni waAAani ashshimali qaAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 18
He [i.e., man] utters no word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ Ma yalfithu min qawlinilla ladayhi raqeebun AAateed — 🔊
Ayah 19
And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid.
وَجَآءَتْ سَكْرَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ Wajaat sakratu almawti bilhaqqithalika ma kunta minhu taheed — 🔊
Ayah 20
And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat.
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْوَعِيدِ Wanufikha fee assoori thalikayawmu alwaAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 21
And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness
وَجَآءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَآئِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ Wajaat kullu nafsin maAAaha sa-iqunwashaheed — 🔊
Ayah 22
[It will be said], “You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover so your sight, this Day, is sharp.”
لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِى غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَآءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ Laqad kunta fee ghaflatin min hathafakashafna AAanka ghitaaka fabasarukaalyawma hadeed — 🔊
Ayah 23
And his companion, [the angel], will say, “This [record] is what is with me, prepared.”
وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ هَـٰذَا مَا لَدَىَّ عَتِيدٌ Waqala qareenuhu hatha maladayya AAateed — 🔊
Ayah 24
[Allāh will say], “Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever,
أَلْقِيَا فِى جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ Alqiya fee jahannama kulla kaffarinAAaneed — 🔊
Ayah 25
Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter,
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin mureeb — 🔊
Ayah 26
Who made [as equal] with Allāh another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment.”
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلشَّدِيدِ Allathee jaAAala maAAa Allahiilahan akhara faalqiyahu fee alAAathabiashshadeed — 🔊
Ayah 27
His [devil] companion will say, “Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error.”
۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُۥ رَبَّنَا مَآ أَطْغَيْتُهُۥ وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۭ بَعِيدٍ Qala qareenuhu rabbana maatghaytuhu walakin kana fee dalalinbaAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 28
[Allāh] will say, “Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the threat [i.e., warning].
قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا۟ لَدَىَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِٱلْوَعِيدِ Qala la takhtasimooladayya waqad qaddamtu ilaykum bilwaAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 29
The word [i.e., decree] will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants.”
مَا يُبَدَّلُ ٱلْقَوْلُ لَدَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِظَلَّـٰمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ Ma yubaddalu alqawlu ladayya wamaana bithallamin lilAAabeed — 🔊
Ayah 30
On the Day We will say to Hell, “Have you been filled?” and it will say, “Are there some more,”
يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ ٱمْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ Yawma naqoolu lijahannama hali imtala/tiwataqoolu hal min mazeed — 🔊
Ayah 31
And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far,
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena ghayrabaAAeed — 🔊
Ayah 32
[It will be said], “This is what you were promised - for every returner [to Allāh] and keeper [of His covenant].
هَـٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ Hatha ma tooAAadoona likulliawwabin hafeeth — 🔊
Ayah 33
Who feared the Most Merciful in the unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance].
مَّنْ خَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَجَآءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ Man khashiya arrahmanabilghaybi wajaa biqalbin muneeb — 🔊
Ayah 34
Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity.”
ٱدْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَـٰمٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُلُودِ Odkhulooha bisalamin thalikayawmu alkhulood — 🔊
Ayah 35
They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more.
لَهُم مَّا يَشَآءُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ Lahum ma yashaoona feehawaladayna mazeed — 🔊
Ayah 36
And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape?
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَـٰدِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin humashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fee albiladi halmin mahees — 🔊
Ayah 37
Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind].
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ Inna fee thalika lathikraliman kana lahu qalbun aw alqa assamAAawahuwa shaheed — 🔊
Ayah 38
And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness.
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ Walaqad khalaqna assamawatiwal-arda wama baynahuma fee sittatiayyamin wama massana min lughoob — 🔊
Ayah 39
So be patient, [O Muḥammad], over what they say and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ Fasbir AAala mayaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAiashshamsi waqabla alghuroob — 🔊
Ayah 40
And [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration [i.e., prayer].
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَـٰرَ ٱلسُّجُودِ Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waadbaraassujood — 🔊
Ayah 41
And listen on the Day when the Caller will call out from a place that is near -
وَٱسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ ٱلْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ WastamiAA yawma yunadi almunadimin makanin qareeb — 🔊
Ayah 42
The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves].
يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ ٱلصَّيْحَةَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ ٱلْخُرُوجِ Yawma yasmaAAoona assayhatabilhaqqi thalika yawmu alkhurooj — 🔊
Ayah 43
Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the destination
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا ٱلْمَصِيرُ Inna nahnu nuhyeewanumeetu wa-ilayna almaseer — 🔊
Ayah 44
On the Day the earth breaks away from them [and they emerge] rapidly; that is a gathering easy for Us.
يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ Yawma tashaqqaqu al-ardu AAanhum siraAAanthalika hashrun AAalayna yaseer — 🔊
Ayah 45
We are most knowing of what they say, and you are not over them a tyrant But remind by the Qur’ān whoever fears My threat.
نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّرْ بِٱلْقُرْءَانِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ Nahnu aAAlamu bima yaqooloonawama anta AAalayhim bijabbarin fathakkir bilqur-animan yakhafu waAAeed — 🔊
