Surah 30: Ar-Rum

Ayah 1
Alif, Lām, Meem
الٓمٓ Alif-lam-meem — 🔊
Ayah 2
The Byzantines have been defeated1
غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ Ghulibati arroom — 🔊
Ayah 3
In the nearest land But they, after their defeat, will overcome
فِىٓ أَدْنَى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ Fee adna al-ardi wahum minbaAAdi ghalabihim sayaghliboon — 🔊
Ayah 4
Within three to nine years. To Allāh belongs the command [i.e., decree] before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice
فِى بِضْعِ سِنِينَ ۗ لِلَّهِ ٱلْأَمْرُ مِن قَبْلُ وَمِنۢ بَعْدُ ۚ وَيَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ Fee bidAAi sineena lillahial-amru min qablu wamin baAAdu wayawma-ithin yafrahualmu/minoon — 🔊
Ayah 5
In the victory of Allāh He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
بِنَصْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ Binasri Allahi yansuruman yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu arraheem — 🔊
Ayah 6
[It is] the promise of Allāh. Allāh does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know.
وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱللَّهُ وَعْدَهُۥ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ WaAAda Allahi la yukhlifu AllahuwaAAdahu walakinna akthara annasi layaAAlamoon — 🔊
Ayah 7
They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.
يَعْلَمُونَ ظَـٰهِرًا مِّنَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ YaAAlamoona thahiranmina alhayati addunya wahum AAanial-akhirati hum ghafiloon — 🔊
Ayah 8
Do they not contemplate within themselves?1 Allāh has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.
أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِم ۗ مَّا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِلِقَآئِ رَبِّهِمْ لَكَـٰفِرُونَ Awa lam yatafakkaroo fee anfusihim makhalaqa Allahu assamawati wal-ardawama baynahuma illa bilhaqqiwaajalin musamman wa-inna katheeran mina annasibiliqa-i rabbihim lakafiroon — 🔊
Ayah 9
Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed [or excavated] the earth and built it up more than they [i.e., the Makkans] have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allāh would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.
أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَثَارُوا۟ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَعَمَرُوهَآ أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ Awa lam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihimkanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharoo al-ardawaAAamarooha akthara mimma AAamarooha wajaat-humrusuluhum bilbayyinati fama kana Allahuliyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahumyathlimoon — 🔊
Ayah 10
Then the end of those who did evil was the worst [consequence] because they denied the signs of Allāh and used to ridicule them.
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ أَن كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُوا۟ بِهَا يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ Thumma kana AAaqibata allatheenaasaoo assoo-a an kaththaboo bi-ayatiAllahi wakanoo biha yastahzi-oon — 🔊
Ayah 11
Allāh begins creation; then He will repeat it; then to Him you will be returned.
ٱللَّهُ يَبْدَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ ثُمَّ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ Allahu yabdao alkhalqa thummayuAAeeduhu thumma ilayhi turjaAAoon — 🔊
Ayah 12
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will be in despair.
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ Wayawma taqoomu assaAAatuyublisu almujrimoon — 🔊
Ayah 13
And there will not be for them among their [alleged] partners any intercessors, and they will [then] be disbelievers in their partners.
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَآئِهِمْ شُفَعَـٰٓؤُا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ كَـٰفِرِينَ Walam yakun lahum min shuraka-ihimshufaAAao wakanoo bishuraka-ihim kafireen — 🔊
Ayah 14
And the Day the Hour appears - that Day they will become separated.
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ Wayawma taqoomu assaAAatuyawma-ithin yatafarraqoon — 🔊
Ayah 15
And as for those who had believed and done righteous deeds, they will be in a garden [of Paradise], delighted.
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَهُمْ فِى رَوْضَةٍ يُحْبَرُونَ Faamma allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati fahum fee rawdatinyuhbaroon — 🔊
Ayah 16
But as for those who disbelieved and denied Our verses and the meeting of the Hereafter, those will be brought into the punishment [to remain].
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَلِقَآئِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُحْضَرُونَ Waamma allatheena kafaroo wakaththaboobi-ayatina waliqa-i al-akhiratifaola-ika fee alAAathabi muhdaroon — 🔊
Ayah 17
So exalted is Allāh when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.
فَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ حِينَ تُمْسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصْبِحُونَ Fasubhana Allahi heenatumsoona waheena tusbihoon — 🔊
Ayah 18
And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon.
وَلَهُ ٱلْحَمْدُ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَعَشِيًّا وَحِينَ تُظْهِرُونَ Walahu alhamdu fee assamawatiwal-ardi waAAashiyyan waheena tuthhiroon — 🔊
Ayah 19
He brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. And thus will you be brought out
يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَيُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ وَيُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ تُخْرَجُونَ Yukhriju alhayya mina almayyitiwayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi wayuhyee al-ardabaAAda mawtiha wakathalika tukhrajoon — 🔊
Ayah 20
And of His signs is that He created you from dust; then, suddenly you were human beings dispersing [throughout the earth].
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ تَنتَشِرُونَ Wamin ayatihi an khalaqakummin turabin thumma itha antum basharun tantashiroon — 🔊
Ayah 21
And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ Wamin ayatihi an khalaqa lakummin anfusikum azwajan litaskunoo ilayha wajaAAalabaynakum mawaddatan warahmatan inna fee thalika laayatinliqawmin yatafakkaroon — 🔊
Ayah 22
And of His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are signs for those of knowledge.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ خَلْقُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱخْتِلَـٰفُ أَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَٰنِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّلْعَـٰلِمِينَ Wamin ayatihi khalqu assamawatiwal-ardi wakhtilafu alsinatikumwaalwanikum inna fee thalika laayatinlilAAalimeen — 🔊
Ayah 23
And of His signs is your sleep by night and day and your seeking of His bounty. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ مَنَامُكُم بِٱلَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱبْتِغَآؤُكُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ Wamin ayatihi manamukumbillayli wannahari wabtighaokummin fadlihi inna fee thalika laayatinliqawmin yasmaAAoon — 🔊
Ayah 24
And of His signs is [that] He shows you the lightning [causing] fear and aspiration, and He sends down rain from the sky by which He brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that are signs for a people who use reason.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ يُرِيكُمُ ٱلْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَيُحْىِۦ بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ Wamin ayatihi yureekumualbarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunazzilu mina assama-imaan fayuhyee bihi al-arda baAAda mawtihainna fee thalika laayatin liqawminyaAAqiloon — 🔊
Ayah 25
And of His signs is that the heaven and earth stand [i.e., remain] by His command. Then when He calls you with a [single] call from the earth, immediately you will come forth.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَن تَقُومَ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ ۚ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ دَعْوَةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ إِذَآ أَنتُمْ تَخْرُجُونَ Wamin ayatihi an taqooma assamaowal-ardu bi-amrihi thumma itha daAAakumdaAAwatan mina al-ardi itha antum takhrujoon — 🔊
Ayah 26
And to Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and earth. All are to Him devoutly obedient.
وَلَهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ كُلٌّ لَّهُۥ قَـٰنِتُونَ Walahu man fee assamawatiwal-ardi kullun lahu qanitoon — 🔊
Ayah 27
And it is He who begins creation; then He repeats it, and that is [even] easier for Him. To Him belongs the highest description [i.e., attribute] in the heavens and earth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى يَبْدَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ وَهُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِ ۚ وَلَهُ ٱلْمَثَلُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ Wahuwa allathee yabdao alkhalqathumma yuAAeeduhu wahuwa ahwanu AAalayhi walahu almathalu al-aAAlafee assamawati wal-ardiwahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeem — 🔊
Ayah 28
He presents to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those whom your right hands possess [i.e., slaves] any partners in what We have provided for you so that you are equal therein [and] would fear them as your fear of one another [within a partnership]?1 Thus do We detail the verses for a people who use reason.
ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۖ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَـٰنُكُم مِّن شُرَكَآءَ فِى مَا رَزَقْنَـٰكُمْ فَأَنتُمْ فِيهِ سَوَآءٌ تَخَافُونَهُمْ كَخِيفَتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ Daraba lakum mathalan min anfusikumhal lakum mimma malakat aymanukum min shurakaafee ma razaqnakum faantum feehi sawaon takhafoonahumkakheefatikum anfusakum kathalika nufassilu al-ayatiliqawmin yaAAqiloon — 🔊
Ayah 29
But those who wrong follow their [own] desires without knowledge. Then who can guide one whom Allāh has sent astray? And for them there are no helpers.
بَلِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُم بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۖ فَمَن يَهْدِى مَنْ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ Bali ittabaAAa allatheena thalamooahwaahum bighayri AAilmin faman yahdee man adallaAllahu wama lahum min nasireen — 🔊
Ayah 30
So direct your face [i.e., self] toward the religion, inclining to truth. [Adhere to] the fiṭrah of Allāh upon which He has created [all] people. No change should there be in the creation of Allāh That is the correct religion, but most of the people do not know.
فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا ۚ فِطْرَتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِى فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا ۚ لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلْقَيِّمُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ Faaqim wajhaka liddeeni haneefanfitrata Allahi allatee fatara annasaAAalayha la tabdeela likhalqi Allahi thalikaaddeenu alqayyimu walakinna akthara annasila yaAAlamoon — 🔊
Ayah 31
[Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allāh
۞ مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ Muneebeena ilayhi wattaqoohuwaaqeemoo assalata wala takoonoomina almushrikeen — 🔊
Ayah 32
[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has
مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍۭ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ Mina allatheena farraqoo deenahum wakanooshiyaAAan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoon — 🔊
Ayah 33
And when adversity touches the people, they call upon their Lord, turning in repentance to Him. Then when He lets them taste mercy from Him, at once a party of them associate others with their Lord,
وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرٌّ دَعَوْا۟ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنْهُ رَحْمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ Wa-itha massa annasa durrundaAAaw rabbahum muneebeena ilayhi thumma itha athaqahumminhu rahmatan itha fareequn minhum birabbihimyushrikoon — 🔊
Ayah 34
So that they will deny what We have granted them Then enjoy yourselves, for you are going to know.
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ ۚ فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ Liyakfuroo bima ataynahumfatamattaAAoo fasawfa taAAlamoon — 🔊
Ayah 35
Or have We sent down to them an authority [i.e., a proof or scripture], and it speaks of what they have been associating with Him?
أَمْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَـٰنًا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يُشْرِكُونَ Am anzalna AAalayhim sultananfahuwa yatakallamu bima kanoo bihi yushrikoon — 🔊
Ayah 36
And when We let the people taste mercy, they rejoice therein, but if evil afflicts them for what their hands have put forth, immediately they despair.
وَإِذَآ أَذَقْنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحْمَةً فَرِحُوا۟ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ إِذَا هُمْ يَقْنَطُونَ Watha athaqna annasarahmatan farihoo biha wa-in tusibhumsayyi-atun bima qaddamat aydeehim itha hum yaqnatoon — 🔊
Ayah 37
Do they not see that Allāh extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ Awa lam yaraw anna Allaha yabsutuarrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalikalaayatin liqawmin yu/minoon — 🔊
Ayah 38
So give the relative his right, as well as the needy and the traveler. That is best for those who desire the face [i.e., approval] of Allāh, and it is they who will be the successful.
فَـَٔاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ Faati tha alqurba haqqahuwalmiskeena wabna assabeeli thalikakhayrun lillatheena yureedoona wajha Allahi waola-ikahumu almuflihoon — 🔊
Ayah 39
And whatever you give for interest [i.e., advantage] to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allāh. But what you give in zakāh desiring the face [i.e., approval] of Allāh - those are the multipliers
وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن رِّبًا لِّيَرْبُوَا۟ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَلَا يَرْبُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُم مِّن زَكَوٰةٍ تُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُضْعِفُونَ Wama ataytum min ribanliyarbuwa fee amwali annasi falayarboo AAinda Allahi wama ataytum min zakatintureedoona wajha Allahi faola-ika humu almudAAifoon — 🔊
Ayah 40
Allāh is the one who created you, then provided for you, then will cause you to die, and then will give you life. Are there any of your “partners” who does anything of that? Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him.
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمْ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ هَلْ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفْعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ Allahu allathee khalaqakumthumma razaqakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum halmin shuraka-ikum man yafAAalu min thalikum minshay-in subhanahu wataAAala AAammayushrikoon — 🔊
Ayah 41
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He [i.e., Allāh] may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].
ظَهَرَ ٱلْفَسَادُ فِى ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُوا۟ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ Thahara alfasadu feealbarri walbahri bima kasabat aydee annasiliyutheeqahum baAAda allathee AAamiloolaAAallahum yarjiAAoon — 🔊
Ayah 42
Say, [O Muḥammad], “Travel through the land and observe how was the end of those before. Most of them were associators [of others with Allāh].
قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلُ ۚ كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّشْرِكِينَ Qul seeroo fee al-ardi fanthurookayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablu kanaaktharuhum mushrikeen — 🔊
Ayah 43
So direct your face [i.e., self] toward the correct religion before a Day comes from Allāh of which there is no repelling. That Day, they will be divided
فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ ٱلْقَيِّمِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِىَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصَّدَّعُونَ Faaqim wajhaka liddeeni alqayyimimin qabli an ya/tiya yawmun la maradda lahu mina Allahiyawma-ithin yassaddaAAoon — 🔊
Ayah 44
Whoever disbelieves - upon him is [the consequence of] his disbelief. And whoever does righteousness - they are for themselves preparing,
مَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُۥ ۖ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًا فَلِأَنفُسِهِمْ يَمْهَدُونَ Man kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu waman AAamila salihanfali-anfusihim yamhadoon — 🔊
Ayah 45
That He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds out of His bounty. Indeed, He does not like the disbelievers.
لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ مِن فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ Liyajziya allatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati min fadlihiinnahu la yuhibbu alkafireen — 🔊
Ayah 46
And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bringers of good tidings and to let you taste His mercy [i.e., rain] and so the ships may sail at His command and so you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦٓ أَن يُرْسِلَ ٱلرِّيَاحَ مُبَشِّرَٰتٍ وَلِيُذِيقَكُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِهِۦ وَلِتَجْرِىَ ٱلْفُلْكُ بِأَمْرِهِۦ وَلِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ Wamin ayatihi an yursila arriyahamubashshiratin waliyutheeqakum min rahmatihiwalitajriya alfulku bi-amrihi walitabtaghoo min fadlihiwalaAAallakum tashkuroon — 🔊
Ayah 47
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمْنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ ۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ Walaqad arsalna min qablika rusulanila qawmihim fajaoohum bilbayyinatifantaqamna mina allatheena ajramoo wakanahaqqan AAalayna nasru almu/mineen — 🔊
Ayah 48
It is Allāh who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds and spread them in the sky however He wills, and He makes them fragments so you see the rain emerge from within them. And when He causes it to fall upon whom He wills of His servants, immediately they rejoice
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًا فَيَبْسُطُهُۥ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ يَشَآءُ وَيَجْعَلُهُۥ كِسَفًا فَتَرَى ٱلْوَدْقَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلَـٰلِهِۦ ۖ فَإِذَآ أَصَابَ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ Allahu allathee yursilu arriyahafatutheeru sahaban fayabsutuhu fee assama-ikayfa yashao wayajAAaluhu kisafan fatara alwadqayakhruju min khilalihi fa-itha asaba bihiman yashao min AAibadihi itha humyastabshiroon — 🔊
Ayah 49
Although they were, before it was sent down upon them - before that, in despair.
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِم مِّن قَبْلِهِۦ لَمُبْلِسِينَ Wa-in kanoo min qabli an yunazzalaAAalayhim min qablihi lamubliseen — 🔊
Ayah 50
So observe the effects of the mercy of Allāh - how He gives life to the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed, that [same one] will give life to the dead, and He is over all things competent.
فَٱنظُرْ إِلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِ رَحْمَتِ ٱللَّهِ كَيْفَ يُحْىِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Fanthur ila atharirahmati Allahi kayfa yuhyee al-ardabaAAda mawtiha inna thalika lamuhyee almawtawahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeer — 🔊
Ayah 51
But if We should send a [bad] wind and they saw [their crops] turned yellow, they would remain thereafter disbelievers
وَلَئِنْ أَرْسَلْنَا رِيحًا فَرَأَوْهُ مُصْفَرًّا لَّظَلُّوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ يَكْفُرُونَ Wala-in arsalna reehanfaraawhu musfarran lathalloo min baAAdihiyakfuroon — 🔊
Ayah 52
So indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs, retreating.
فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَلَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوْا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ Fa-innaka la tusmiAAu almawtawala tusmiAAu assumma adduAAaaitha wallaw mudbireen — 🔊
Ayah 53
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [in submission to Allāh].
وَمَآ أَنتَ بِهَـٰدِ ٱلْعُمْىِ عَن ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ ۖ إِن تُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَهُم مُّسْلِمُونَ Wama anta bihadi alAAumyi AAandalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa man yu/minu bi-ayatinafahum muslimoon — 🔊
Ayah 54
Allāh is the one who created you from weakness, then made after weakness strength, then made after strength weakness and white hair. He creates what He wills, and He is the Knowing, the Competent.
۞ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعْفٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ضَعْفٍ قُوَّةً ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ قُوَّةٍ ضَعْفًا وَشَيْبَةً ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ٱلْقَدِيرُ Allahu allathee khalaqakum mindaAAfin thumma jaAAala min baAAdi daAAfin quwwatanthumma jaAAala min baAAdi quwwatin daAAfan washaybatanyakhluqu ma yashao wahuwa alAAaleemu alqadeer — 🔊
Ayah 55
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded.
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا۟ غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَانُوا۟ يُؤْفَكُونَ Wayawma taqoomu assaAAatuyuqsimu almujrimoona ma labithoo ghayra saAAatin kathalikakanoo yu/fakoon — 🔊
Ayah 56
But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, “You remained the extent of Allāh’s decree until the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know.”1
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ وَٱلْإِيمَـٰنَ لَقَدْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِى كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْبَعْثِ ۖ فَهَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْبَعْثِ وَلَـٰكِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ Waqala allatheena ootooalAAilma wal-eemana laqad labithtum fee kitabiAllahi ila yawmi albaAAthi fahatha yawmualbaAAthi walakinnakum kuntum la taAAlamoon — 🔊
Ayah 57
So that Day, their excuse will not benefit those who wronged, nor will they be asked to appease [Allāh].
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ Fayawma-ithin la yanfaAAu allatheenathalamoo maAAthiratuhum wala humyustaAAtaboon — 🔊
Ayah 58
And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur’ān from every [kind of] example. But, [O Muḥammad], if you should bring them a sign, the disbelievers will surely say, “You [believers] are but falsifiers.”
وَلَقَدْ ضَرَبْنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِى هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٍ ۚ وَلَئِن جِئْتَهُم بِـَٔايَةٍ لَّيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُبْطِلُونَ Walaqad darabna linnasifee hatha alqur-ani min kulli mathalin wala-inji/tahum bi-ayatin layaqoolanna allatheena kafarooin antum illa mubtiloon — 🔊
Ayah 59
Thus does Allāh seal the hearts of those who do not know
كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ Kathalika yatbaAAu AllahuAAala quloobi allatheena la yaAAlamoon — 🔊
Ayah 60
So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth. And let them not disquiet you who are not certain [in faith].
فَٱصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ Fasbir inna waAAda Allahihaqqun wala yastakhiffannaka allatheena layooqinoon — 🔊
